Pickleball Camps and Holidays in Spain

Spain is quickly becoming a strong destination for a pickleball holiday, with new courts and camps opening around the country. PickleVia's first pickleball camp in Spain is Open Marratxí, based in Marratxí, Mallorca, with courts opening autumn 2026.

Pickleball's growth in Spain

Padel has been hugely popular in Spain for years, and that existing racket sports culture, familiar courts, established clubs, players comfortable picking up a paddle sport, has given pickleball a natural route in. Pickleball is newer to the country, but the overlap with padel means many venues, coaches and players are already primed for it, and new courts continue to open as more clubs add pickleball alongside their existing padel and tennis facilities.

Pickleball in the Balearic Islands

The Balearic Islands, including Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, combine a strong existing racket sports scene with a climate and travel links that suit visiting players as much as residents. Mallorca in particular has seen new pickleball activity in recent years, including purpose-built courts and a growing number of players trying the sport for the first time, alongside its long-established padel and tennis clubs.

Why Mallorca is a strong pickleball destination

Mallorca's climate means outdoor play is realistic for much of the year, without the extreme heat of some parts of mainland Spain in high summer. The island already has a strong racket sports culture thanks to padel, so courts, coaching and a player base with the right instincts are not starting from zero. It is also easy to reach, with direct flights from across Europe, which makes it a practical base whether you are visiting for a short pickleball trip or combining it with a longer holiday.
